OLD BUSINESS
Brian has not been able to meet with Mayor Baker to discuss the parking area outside of the fence as a viewing and picnic area. Marvin mentioned that Danville has such an area for cars to park and watch airplanes takeoff and land.
Duane Spilde is an Airport Advocate with AOPA, so Brian plans to discuss with him about what the regulations might be.
Marvin said the October car show has been put on the calendar by Armando Petrocelli. Brian asked Marvin if he could ask Armando if he would be willing to meet with the Club at the next meeting to discuss the car show.
Deb gave an update on the lobby renovation. Paint samples were shown and the majority liked the colors but preferred a lighter gray for the walls. A darker blue will be used on one wall for accent.
Marvin is going to sheetrock over the concrete blocks for a more finished look.
The pictures, etc. will be removed and as soon as the sheetrock is up the walls will be cleaned and then painting will begin.
It was mentioned again that the flag pole and the airport sign frame needs to be painted.
NEW BUSINESS
Bob thanked everyone for celebrating his 85th birthday and Brian suggested we put an article in the Reporter along with a picture of Bob. Linda will look into this.
Jerry introduced an idea of purchasing fence “Put-in-cups” to spell out Sidney Airport on the fence along the road. The majority seemed to like that idea. Deb will research the cost.
Linda brought up the fact that the Airport Courtesy car has been signed out for days instead of a couple of hours. It was agreed that the maximum time for the car to be used is 2 hours. Charlie will have to make this known to everyone who wishes to use it.
The next meeting is scheduled for Saturday, August 8th at noon.
Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by John and seconded by Donna. All in favor.
Respectfully submitted,
Linda Seymour
