Sidney Airport Club Minutes
May 9, 2026
The meeting was called to Order at 12:07 pm by President Brian diLorenzo
PRESENT: Bob Basile, Eric Wallace, Brian diLorenzo, Jerry Foote, John Giannone, Bernie Ford, Geoffrey and Lily Bastien, Robert Gravener, Marvin and Donna Ladner, Linda Seymour, Duane and Mary Spilde, Deb Liddle, Elijah Cone, Charlie Washburn, Michael diLorenzo
NEW MEMBERS:
Elijah Cone and Lily Bastien – Welcome!!
Minutes from the April meeting were read by Linda Seymour. Motion to accept was made by Donna and seconded by Bob. All in favor and carried.
Treasurer’s report for April 2026 was read by Marvin Ladner. Total cash on hand is $7,928.46. Motion to accept was made by John and seconded by Eric. All in favor and carried.
OLD BUSINESS
Jerry Foote purchased 5 banquet tables at Sam’s Club. 2 additional tables were also purchased, and a motion to accept this purchase was made by Donna and seconded by Geoffrey. All in favor and carried.
Marvin presented the new note cards with the new Club logo. Linda will send a thank you to Eric Wilson at USA Custom Pad for printing these up for the Club.
Charlie reported on the following:
- all gates have been repaired
- the REIL is at the Airport and now needs to be installed
- the drainage issue at the West Hangar has not been completed. Geoffrey asked Charlie how long before the Village fixes the drainage problem.
- there was a recent DOT inspection and everything was approved
- some of the tie downs were put out of service so as not to interfere with the helicopter area
- there are now 2 empty hangars available in the West Hangar
Deb Liddle informed everyone that the renovation of the Lobby is still just in the planning stage. Deb wants to meet with Charlie as to what can be removed and once that has been decided, painting will start.
NEW BUSINESS
The Fly-In Breakfast will take place on June 7th from 8am – noon.
-Brian will be posting a sign-up sheet in the Lobby. Please be sure to put your name down to help out and how long you can work.
-Brian will design flyers and Marvin will have them made up
-Bob will put the road signs out on Monday, June 1st
-Brian will contact WCDO and Linda will contact Small Town Connects and the Walton Reporter
-Bob will be talking to his nephew regarding the State Troopers bringing a display
-Brian is going to check with the BOCES Security/Law Enforcement group to see if the class can help out at the breakfast
-Linda will check on the Sidney Boy Scouts to see if they can also help out
-Bernie will contact Boulder Oil
-Jerry will contact Huff’s about the refrigerated truck
-Marvin will get the cash needed for the breakfast
-Marvin will purchase a new coffee pot
-eggs need to be ordered from Club 55
-Michael will be mixing pancakes again
A Breakfast Committee will meet to finalize all plans for the Fly-In.
Deb offered to pick out the flowers to be planted in the fence containers and at the Airport sign by the road. Linda offered to help. Deb stated that she would need $200 to cover the expense of flowers. A motion to spend this amount was made by Bob and seconded by Jerry. All in favor and carried.
The Airport Sign still needs to be stained before planting and before the Fly-In Breakfast.
Geoffrey brought up the matter again about security for the planes and keeping the public from getting too close. This is an important issue and needs to be addressed before the event.
Marvin reminded members that Club dues were due in April. If you haven’t paid yet, please be sure to pay at the next meeting. Dues can be sent by check to Marvin Ladner, 21 James Street, Sidney, NY 13838.
The next meeting is scheduled for Saturday, June 13th at noon.
Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by John and seconded by Eric. All in favor.
